Authorities Investigating Fatal Shooting In Kerby

Investigators with the Josephine County Major Crimes Team and Oregon State Police Criminal Investigations Divisions are investigating a shooting that resulted in the death of a 59 year old Kerby resident.

The shooting happened Saturday around 5 pm on the 23000 block of Redwood Highway in Josephine County.

Upon arrival, police found that Leron Justin Estes had a gunshot wound and was transported to Three Rivers Medical Center, where he later died.

Officials stay that Estes got into a dispute with his neighbor Donald Easley.  Easley fired at least one shot from a handgun that caused his death. 

At this time no arrests have been made.
