A project aimed at cutting down traffic on Highway 62 is moving forward after the bypass project route has been approved for an environmental review.
The cost of the review is 7 million dollars, an amount coming from the money the have currently secured for the project. Officials say they have close to 120 million dollars of the over 400 million needed to complete the bypass.
Once complete, the final project would extend nearly eight miles, from I-5 to Dutton road near Shady Cove.
The first portion of the project, getting underway in June of 2014, would take two years to complete and extend 4 miles, from Sportsman's Wharehouse to just south of White City.
Bidding for the first phase is slated for March of 2014.
