After a day of negotiations the Medford School District Friday night wrote up a new proposal for teachers.
The district spent nine hours Friday discussing the financial circumstances of the district, the work year calendar and working conditions before presenting a new proposal to the Medford Education Association (MEA).
The district says the new proposal included tentative agreements finalized Tuesday between the district and the MEA into the district's December 12th, 2013 amended final offer.
According to a press release the district issued late Friday some of the changes include "1. A School Calendar and Work Year that shall not exceed 190 for this school year and the next two. 2. A School Calendar that may include up to 177 days when pupils are in attendance. (This is an increase from the 170 day limitation that has been in effect the past two years.)"
The district and the MEA are set to meet again on January 14th to continue discussions.
