Camp LOW Echo gets a second chance

A pair of local philanthropists are taking control of an historic Southern Oregon camp.

The Sid and Karen Deboer Foundation purchased Camp LOW Echo, a former Girls Scout camp at Lake of the Woods.

The Deboer's are working with local architect David Wilkerson and ORW Architecture, who's donating their time to help the Deboer’s develop a master plan.

Sid Deboer tells NBC5 they're in the early stages of fundraising but they hope to open a year round camp for local kids in the not too distant future.
