Medford grass ordinance to take effect

Medford, Ore. -- With both warm weather and fire season on their way, the city of Medford is getting ready to issue fines if you have out of control dry grass on your property.

Starting June 1st, the city's weeds and grass ordinance takes effect. You can't have any grass, weeds, brush or vegetation over ten inches tall.

There are exceptions, such as ornamental shrubs or anything that's landscaped.

If the city has to get rid of grass for you, then you'll have to pay for it.
