Over 400 minors attempt alcohol purchases in 2013, according to OLCC

Oregon's Liquor Control Commission reports over 400 minors misrepresented their age in an attempt to purchase alcohol last year. In 2013, the OLCC issued more than 1,000 total criminal citations related to minors and alcohol.

Southside Beverage clerk, Cheryl Johnson, says it is really *never* a burden carding every customer that looks younger than forty. "It just is a more important issue than worrying about a sting. We need to worry about the fact that minors should not be getting alcohol. That is our job," says Johnson.

Minors using fake ID's can lose driving privileges for a year. Sellers can be fined up to $250 for not checking an ID.
