Pets freaked out by fireworks

Medford, Ore. -- Animal experts are reminding you to remember to take care of your pets this 4th of July holiday.

Southern Oregon Humane Society Executive Director Kenn Altine recommends bringing your pets inside before the fireworks start popping. A quiet, secluded room is great, you can also turn music or the television on (but not a Bruce Willis movie)!

SO Humane had their busiest weekend ever last 4th of July holiday as many dogs ran away from home. Altine even suggests using two leashes if you're going to take your dog out and about with you. That way if the first one slips  out of your hand-- you've still got a hold on your pet.

If you lose your pet you can call SO Humane at 541-779-3215.
