Nine people are dead and about 20 other people are hospitalized after a fatal bus crash in Northeastern Oregon this morning. The crash occurred in the westbound lanes of Interstate 84, just east of Pendleton. A charter bus lost control on the icy roads, crashing through a guardrail, and sliding down an embankment about two hundred feet before finally coming to a stop. Police say the bus company involved is Mi Joo tour and travel from British Columbia.
The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation. Meantime, a separate crash down the road also resulted in a death this morning, it was a result of icy roads.
