Ashland buys two new fire engines

Ashland, Ore. -- The Ashland Fire Department has two shiny new trucks to fight fires and respond to other emergencies.

The new engines will be the first responding engines at fire stations one and two. The money for the trucks came out of the city's equipment fund, at a price of $576,000 each.

The department expects to get about 20 years of from the engines. They will replace two older trucks built in 1991 and 1993.
