Oregon's Attorney General has agreed to take up a new occupation-- as President of Reed College.
John Kroger accepted the offer of presidency of the Portland college Tuesday.
This comes just 6 months after declaring he would not seek re-election, due to a non-life threatening medical condition.
In a statement Tuesday, Kroger said he will step down later this summer.
Meanwhile, Governor John Kitzhaber is set to name a replacement after Kroger leaves office.
