Bike Thefts Up in Medford

One type of theft on the rise in Medford - bike thefts... up nearly 50-percent in 2011.

The Medford Police Department reporting nearly 300 cases of bike theft last year, as opposed to roughly 200 in 2010.

Bike theft is becoming such a common occurrence, some are comparing Medford's theft rates to Eugene and Portland. Medford P-D says the best way to keep your bicycle safe safe is to lock it up securely.
