Some say arming teachers is a step in the wrong direction despite Representative Dennis Richardson's suggestion over the weekend.

"If you had somebody armed, on the school grounds, there would have only been a few fatalities, and then the shooter would have been brought down." Oregon Representative, Dennis Richardson says the focus should be on protecting children in the classroom not by restricting guns but arming school staff.

"I think Richardson is on the wrong track." Democratic Representative Peter Buckley says, if there's any talk about the gun debate, it should be about putting restrictions on automatic weapons.

In 1994 the ten year Federal Gun Ban, expired and hasn't been pursued since- until recently.
