Firefighters say small brush fire was started by a person

Gold Hill, Ore. -- Firefighters say a brush fire near the railroad in Gold Hill was started by a person.

Shortly after 2:30 Tuesday morning, Fire District Three was called out to a patch of land behind some vacant buildings off of 4th Street.

Officials say someone started the slow moving brush fire. Some residents told fire crews they believe it could be a transient.

Eight firefighters responded and they got the flames out quickly. Nearly one tenth of an acre burned.
