Medford, Ore. -- The regions severe drought is having an impact on this year's boating season.
Water levels are so low at Howard Prairie Lake that the normally busy docks are sitting on an empty lake bed.
It's a similar scene at many other Jackson County lakes, with many boat ramps closed.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is warning the dangers of boating on low lake levels.
They say they have received several calls from distressed boaters who became stuck and inoperable. They say to make sure you watch out for any hazards.
