Officials are investigating a late night police chase that takes a deadly turn.
Police say a local man was driving on Stewart Avenue, when officers attempted to pull him over for a traffic violation around 9:30 Tuesday night.
The driver allegedly led law enforcement on a short pursuit on I-5 when police say the man exited the car and took off on foot.
Police eventually caught up with the suspect and arrested him. Police say that the suspect suffered medical complications shortly after being arrested. The man was taken to Providence Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The man's name has not yet been released. Police say he was wanted on a felony warrant.
Officials also say there was a passenger in the car that was not taken into custody.
