More Than 100 Cats Find New Homes

More than 100 adult cats have a new place to call home and it's all thanks to three local animal shelters.

This weekend the Southern Oregon Humane Society, Jackson County Animal Shelter and Committed Alliance to Strays opened up thier doors and allowed anyone to adopt a cat for free.

"Everybody likes to adopt kittens, adult cats are a little harder to adopt out....but people were just passing them up, so the shelters decided to have this event and get some of the older cats to homes, " said Bob Fowler, volunteer for C.A.T.S.

The event was put on because the shelters were at max capacity.

The good news? All but two cats were adopted -- those cats will remain in shelter until a family is found for them.
