Oregon university leaders voted tonight to not allow guns on state university campuses.
A school shooting at an Ohio State high school claimed the lives of three students and now a 17 year old is charged with their murders. It's something that's being taken seriously as the Oregon University System pushes for a gun ban on campus and for a sensitive community following several recent incidents closer to home. At Southern Oregon University, those we spoke with say it's about creating a safe haven for learning. While the Oregon University System pushes, the argument over the Second Amendment-The right to bear arms, has kept the bill from going through the legislature. Now university officials are doing it their own way. A bill which was under consideration in the Oregon State Senate which would ban all licensed concealed handguns on school campuses in Oregon. It was considered this week and once again, did not pass.
