The Oak Knoll Golf Course in Ashland became a crime scene this weekend, as vandals tear up the course. This gives a hole new meaning to ground under repair...no divots, but lots tire marks racing up and down the 7th green at oak knoll golf course. Golf operations manger Tom Cronin says "the thing is they really took there time ripping into the course, backing up covering every square inch of the green, spinning figure 8's..they really did immense damage." Crews have already spent hours working on the repairs, but there is still a long way to go. Tom says "our super intendent was right on it just a couple hours after discovering the damage, but it's still going to be a couple weeks before it's playable again" Although they have set up a temporary green so golfers can still play, this is a costly crime. Tom says "in dollar amounts were looking in the thousands...this is our lively hood, i mean me and the rest of the workers are pretty upset, but i feel bad for the golfers. "
and Tom says the course is owned by the city, so like any city park...this is tax payers dollars going towards the repair.
