Medford man arrested for beating his mom with a cane

Gold Hill, Ore. -- The Jackson County Sheriff's Office said they responded to the 2000 block of Upper River Road in Gold Hill to a reported assault in progress.

According to the victim, 40 year-old Michelle Allen, her 24 year-old son Michael Anchors was beating her with a cane.  Michelle was able to get away from her son until deputies arrived at the scene.

Anchors was arrested and is being held at the Jackson County Jail. He has been charged with Assault 2, Assault 4, Disorderly Conduct 2, Menacing, and Unlawful Use of a Dangerous Weapon. Bail is set at $1,016,000.
