Grants Pass, Ore. -- Oregon State Police are handling the lead on a suspicious death. They said 43-year-old Johnny Neile Hamlin was found dead on a creek where he's a caretaker for the property.

A man who only wanted to go by, Jim, said he found Hamlin unresponsive.

"I said his name a couple of times standing right here and then he didn't respond. Then I realized he passed away," said Jim.

Jim is another caretaker of the property and said Hamlin had been living there for several years. OSP and other agencies from Josephine County were on scene at the property on the 4800 block of Demaray Drive just outside of Grants Pass.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office is conducting an  autopsy.
