Suspect arrested in overnight stabbing in downtown Medford

Update (6/4 12pm): Medford Police have identified the suspect who allegedly stabbed a man in Medford repeatedly as 25 year-old Aaron Westensee. 

Police say Westensee chased the victim (who is not being identified) and stabbed him three times in the torso. Westensee was arrested on June 3rd without incident and is being charged with Attempted Murder and Attempted Assault 1st Degree.

While the investigation is underway, the victim's identity will not be released. Police did say the victim is a 28-year-old Medford resident and is being hospitalized at Rogue Regional Medical Center in stable condition.


Medford, Ore. -- Medford police are investigating a stabbing that happened early Sunday.

Police responded to the call around 2:00 a.m. at the intersection of N. Front and 5th street. When they arrived they found the victim had been stabbed multiple times.

"The case is active. We're not releasing any names involved, but we believe they know each other," Sgt. Derek Parks said.

Mercy Flights transported the victim to the hospital where they had an emergency surgery. The victim is expected to live.
