Fire season begins today in three Southern Oregon counties

Medford, Ore. -- Fire season begins in three counties across Southern Oregon today. Those counties include Jackson, Josephine and Klamath.

With the start of fire season, backyard burning and debris piles will be prohibited. Burn barrels will still be allowed until the end of June, but only if you have a permit.

This is one of the earliest starts for fire season on record in these areas.
