About 500 students from Jackson and Josephine County got a chance to explore their career options.

About 150 different jobs were represented at the 4th annual Careers in Gear Youth Success Expo at Central Medford High School.

Students told NBC 5 News that they're optimistic about their future.

"[The] fair is like awesome that we can just go around to every single booth and we can explore what we want to do when we grow up," said Ben Wesner, a 10th grader who attends Cascade Christian High School.

NBC 5's Raeann Christensen helped at the KOBI-TV NBC 5 booth where students even got a chance to read a teleprompter and see themselves on TV.

The event featured unique jobs that students might not know about, like a crypto-language analyst or a vascular sonographer.
