Authorities in Grants Pass are also investigating a hit and run case involving a five year old little girl.

Officials say a mother and her child were crossing 9th and Riverside in Grants Pass around 8:00 Friday morning when a matte black GMC Jimmy struck both of them.

The child is in fair condition at Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Portland. We're told the child is having surgery on her fractured skull Saturday.

The mother suffered minor injuries.

Police are now looking for the driver.
