If your plans take you to Lost Creek Lake you may want to think again.

Local health officials have issued a health advisory due to high levels of blue-green algae.

If possible all contact with the water should be avoided as the algae produces toxins which are harmful to both humans and animals.

Health officials are also warning campers that toxins cannot be removed by boiling and treating the water.

If you have any questions or concerns you can contact the Jackson County Health Department at 541-774-8206.
