Medford police said a Medford transient and alleged car lot burglar who was arrested just after 12am on Saturday, is back in jail after he was released earlier Saturday afternoon. Jail staff said it was due to overcrowding.

According to authorities, when  37-year-old Robert Johannessen, was released, he went straight back to the same car lot where he had allegedly tried to steal cars overnight. Police said when he went back...he tried to steal another car.

Johannessen has also been connected to another car lot burglary that happened overnight on Thursday, said police.

Johannessen is back in the Jackson County Jail.
