Attempted Kidnapping in O'Brien

Josephine County Sheriff's Deputies are on the hunt for an attempted kidnapping suspect.   
Around 8 O' clock Thursday night, the sheriff's office received a report of an assault and attempted kidnapping in the 700 block of Waldo road in O'Brien.

The victim, a 15-year-old female, was jogging. The suspect reportedly stopped his vehicle and assaulted the victim, grabbing her from behind and attempting to force her into his vehicle.

The victim struggled and successfully escaped. She ran to a location nearby to get help and contact police.

The suspect is described as a 6'1" white male, 180-200 pounds, with an athletic build.

He was reportedly wearing a ski mask at the time of the assault, but is believed to have blonde hair.

The vehicle is described as a flat black van with unknown California plates. It has tinted windows with visible bubbles in the tinting and a dent on the rear passenger side.

The victim suffered minor, non-visible injuries and was transported  to Three Rivers Community Hospital, where she was treated and released.
