'Cops' crew member shot in Nebraska

Omaha, Neb. -- In Nebraska a crew member of the television show "Cops" was killed last night when Omaha police opened fire on a robbery suspect.

It happened as officers interrupted a robbery at a fast-food restaurant, Omaha Police Chief Todd Schmaderer says witnesses and officers thought the robbery suspect's airsoft handgun was real, but it was a pellet gun. Both the suspect and a crew member of "Cops", 38-year-old Bryce Dion Crewwere killed.

A "Cops" executive producer says Dion was “a great guy” and had just been promoted this year to sound supervisor. Chief Schmaderer says he believes the three officers involved acted properly all three are on leave and the incident is being investigated.
