UPDATE: One person is confirmed dead after Police say just before 3:30 Monday morning, one passenger truck ran a red light and slammed into a Department of Forestry van, carrying 7 employees headed to work.

The crash happened near the Medford Rogue Valley Mall and at the intersection of Riverside Avenue (HWY99), and Crater Lake Highway (62).

Some people involved in the crash are still listed as in critical condition and being treated at local hospitals. Police say the driver of the truck actually drove off and is still on the run. Police believe it is a woman.

Alcohol could be a factor because many empty beer cans were found road-side and right after the crash.

Officials say expect delays in the area all day Monday as Police investigate.
