The CrossFit phenomenon is exploding all around the United States and right here in Medford.
People at the Den, a CrossFit gym in Medford, say they swear by the new fitness regimen.
"It's the hardest thing i've ever done every time I come," said Roxane Spear, who's been a part of CrossFit at the Den for almost two years.
"When I came in I was 50 pounds heavier and 6 dress sizes bigger," said Spear.
Austin Stack, owner of CrossFit at the Den said some people come to put on muscle, others to lose weight.
"We've had people lose 60 pounds in 90 days," said Stack.
According to Stack, the workout is different than anything you've seen or done at a regular gym.
"There's really like a family atmosphere where else can you walk into a gym and feel like you're a part of a family? You're not struggling alone, we're going to be here for you, we're going to coach you through it," he said.
"When you come it's like having your own personal trainer every single time you come," said Spear about her experience at the Den.
People push, pull, jump, and climb, all movements designed to improve overall fitness without using conventional workout machines.
"We take functional movements like pushups, pullups, squats deadlifts and we apply an intensity to that," said Stack.
If you're new to all of this, CrossFit enthusiasts say not to worry...
"Everybody really cares about your success, no judgement, it's just an awesome place to be...and nobody cares if your legs are ugly," laughed Spear.
