Current Wildfires burning in Southern Oregon and Northern California

Update (8/18 4pm) Here are the latest updates on wildfires in Southern Oregon and Northern California: 

Happy Camp Complex  burning near Happy Camp has grown to nearly 5,900 acres. Several fires within the complex are fully contained but overall remains 10% contained.

The Beaver Fire burning west of I-5 near the community of Klamath River remains at 85% contained as of Monday evening. It has burned more than 32,000 acres. 

A number of crews and heavy equipment are beginning to clean up debris and securing containment lines.

July Complex Fire has grown to just more than 33,300 acres and is 82% contained. All previous evacuation orders and advisories are in effect.

Update (8/15 4pm)  Here are the latest updates on wildfires in Southern Oregon and Northern California: 

The out of control July Complex Fire mandatory evacuation orders are still in place for the communities of Sawyers Bar, Eddy Gulch, Little North Fork, Idlewild, Mule Bridge, Robinson Flat, and Whites Gulch areas. Once a person leaves, they may not be able to re-enter the evacuation area until the fire danger has passed. Officials are recommending that those residents leave immediately.

Previous evacuations still remain: Scott Valley residents of, French Creek and Sugar Creek areas. This is for residents west of Highway 3, between French Creek Road and Sugar Creek Road including Miners Creek Road, Homestead Lane, Squaw Gulch Road, Azalea Dr, N French Creek Road, Horse Range Lane, French Creek Ct. and any other side roads not listed here. Residents should be prepared to evacuate should fire conditions worsen.

An evacuation center has been established at Scott Valley Junior high school in Fort Jones. The July Complex Wildfire burning west of Weed has grown to 29,000 acres. The blaze is 55% contained.

The Beaver Fire burning west of I-5, near the community of Klamath River and the Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office has lifted all evacuations in the area but fire officials say to expect delays and avoid the area if you can.

A 13 mile section of Pacific Crest Trail has been closed between Copper Butte and Wards Fork gap. The closure will stay in effect until the trail is safe again.

The blaze has grown to more than 32,000 acres and remains 75% contained.

The Happy Camp Complex burning near Happy Camp, California started on Monday. The lightning caused fires have consumed nearly 2,000 acres and are only 10% contained by Friday night.

There's a community meeting Friday at the Karuk gym at 7p.m. Forest Service personnel and firefighters will be available to answer questions.

The Oregon Gulch Fire located about 15 miles southeast of Ashland is fully contained. The fire has burned a total of 35,129 acres. All evacuation orders have been removed. the total cost of fighting the fire in both California and Oregon is over $22 million dollars.
