Curry County Needs Votes to Fund Safety Department

Curry County's Board of Commissioners and elected officials all unanimously agree that the county needs Measure 8-73 to fund their safety department.

If passed, the measure would increase property taxes from 59 cents, to approximately 1-dollar and 35 cents per 1000 dollars assessed property value. The money would fund public safety, which officials say is no longer sustainable.

This month, residents will receive a newsletter that will include the amount each person's estimated property tax would increase if the measure passed.
