Historic Jacksonville went to the dogs Saturday afternoon all to raise money for Southern Oregon's own Dogs for the Deaf.

It was the 22nd Annual Dog Walk to raise money for the organization that rescues shelter dogs and trains them to become assistance dogs for the hearing impaired as well as children on the autism spectrum.

The theme for this year's dog walk was The Wizard of Oz.   Participants put on their ruby red slippers and followed the yellow brick road through downtown Jacksonville and ended with a party at Jacksonville Elementary School, complete with doggy pools and treats. Dogs were decked out in their best Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tinman, even "Glenda the Good Witch" costumes.

This year's Grand Marshal was Ryan Lane, one of the stars of ABC Family's show, "Switched at Birth."  He brought his dog, Zero, along with him.  It was a fun event for the entire family complete with agility demonstrations, lunch, and of course, the costume contest.   In all, Dogs for the Deaf raised close to $25,000.
