Chiloquin, Ore. -- An Eagle Point woman is facing serious charges after Animal Control Officers say three dogs died in her car. Klamath County officers say she locked the dogs in the car for hours on Monday and left them in a parking lot of a Chiloquin restaurant.
"She had left the dogs in there from approximately 9:15am to almost 1pm with no ventilation whatsoever, or water for the dogs. Unfortunately, all 3 Rottweiler’s perished at that time," said Gale McMahon from Klamath County Animal Control.
Animal control will not release the woman's name at the request of the District Attorney’s office. She was arrested and released on three counts of First Degree Animal Neglect. If convicted she could pay $18,000 in fines, jail time and/or lose the rights to owning a dog for five years.
