For the first time in nearly 50 years, close to 1-thousand delegates will flock to Ashland for the annual Oregon State Elks Association Convention.

The convention, starting Thursday through this Sunday, will host the Elks Grand Exalted Ruler David Carr for the first time in the 107- year history of the Ashland Elks Lodge.

The convention will be held in four locations: the Elks Lodge building on Main street, the Ashland Historic Armory, Ashland Springs Hotel, and the Trinity Episcopal Church.

It has been 47 years since the last meeting was held in Ashland.
