Employees Involved in $2.1 Million Tax Return Punished

Four officials who approved a fraudulent tax return to an Oregon woman worth $2.1 millions have been punished.

Two of the employees have been reassigned to new positions where they no longer have the authority of approve cash refunds.

The other employees received unspecified disciplinary actions.

Officials approved the tax return to Krystle Reyes earlier this year who on Tuesday pleaded guilty to fraud and tax evasion.

Reyes was sentenced to five and a half years in
prison.
