Former Jackson County Commissioner Jack Walker has died.

Walker died Saturday in his Phoenix home.

He was a commissioner for 16-years until 2010, when Don Skundrick took his seat.

Walker had been dealing with a number of health issues over the years including liver and heart problems.

In a 2010 interview with NBC 5, Walker said some of his accomplishments were keeping libraries open and keeping the county out of debt.

Walker was 73 year old and leaves behind his wife and son.
