Friends said she grew up in Klamath Falls and graduated from Mazama High School in 1996.

Her friends said they're remembering her as cheerful and full of life.

Police believe the mother of two was shot to death by her husband Bourne Huddleston.

According to authorities, the couple's 10-year-old son was home at the time of the alleged murder.

NBC 5 spoke with multiple people who knew Kristy in high school.

Many of them recalled seeing her friendly face in the school's hallways.

Kristy's close friend spoke with NBC 5 briefly on the phone. She said her friend was a sweet, kindhearted, and generous person who was also an incredible mother.

We're also told by her friend that it came as a complete surprise when she heard Kristy's husband was charged with the murder.

She said she knew of no signs that Kristy was in danger or being abused.

Kristy Huddleston's family is requesting privacy during this difficult time.

They're asking everyone to keep them in their thoughts.
