Owners of fuel-efficient cars listen up, you could be paying more taxes in the future.
Come this fall, ODOT will be experimenting with a new system, using smartphones to track the actual mileage a car travels.
It's designed so you'll get taxed on the actual distance you drive.
Drivers we spoke with say they're not for it.

"I think you should pay on how much you drive which is the gas you drive so no i'm not for that. I think it leads to other tracking with that data," said Kendall Yeaw.

ODOT says money from the state's gas tax has been going down since more fuel efficient cars have hit the road.
They say they're trying to find a new way to generate more money.
