It's official: Governor Kitzhaber has called back lawmakers for a special session. The September 30th session will be focused on the public employee pension system, or PERS.
The Governor's goal is to reduce costs in the system, and raise new revenue. A bill on genetically modified crops would also be on the table.
The session is scheduled to be a one day deal, but could continue if a proposal is not agreed upon. Stay with NBC 5 for updates out of Salem.
