Grants Pass City Council members began discussing but only discussing, possible solutions to fix their problems brought on by severe cuts to public safety. The jail and attorney's that they share with their now miniaturized county justice system.

The City of Grants Pass shares the jail and court services with their now miniaturized county justice system. Budget shortfalls forced layoffs and a May Primary ballot measure, a $1.99 property tax increase was rejected by voters. The cuts were made and now services are what they are. City officials have just now started talking about that might come in the future and if they can do anything to help. They don't expect anything to happen overnight and say it could be a while before anything come to fruition, but
