A Grants Pass man is now the first registered medical marijuana grower in Oregon to be convicted on federal charges.

Jason Michael Scott Nelson faced a U.S. District Court jury in Medford on Friday.

Nelson has been convicted of conspiracy to grow and sell more than 100 marijuana plants, among other charges.

Officials say when investigators searched the man's property, they found a room set up for growing marijuana.

Sentencing is scheduled for August 13th.
