Update: 01/20/2012 - 6:55pm: ODOT has just confirmed that the rock slide is now a mud slide and Highway 42 at the Douglas/Coos County line, East of Myrtle Point has been closed indefinitely.

ODOT has confirmed a rock slide on Highway 42 at the Douglas/Coos County line, East of Myrtle Point. The highway is closed at this hour. Crews are on the scene clearing those rocks from the highway. Officials have not said when the road will reopen. Heavy rain and winds have made the road difficult to navigate.
