Several historic buildings in Jacksonville will soon have a new owner.

Officials in Jackson County announced plans on Tuesday to transfer the ownership of four historic properties from the Southern Oregon Historical Society to the Jacksonville Heritage Society.

The transferred buildings would included the Jacksonville Courthouse, the Beekman House and Bank, and the Saint Joseph's Catholic Rectory.

Officials say that currently the maintenance of the properties is being neglected and the transfer would ensure they are being taken care of.
