Shortly before 8am Wednesday morning Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of a hit and run on Highway 140 near East Antelope Road in White City.

Deputies say the suspect vehicle hit a Garner Tree Service truck on Highway 140 and left the scene. It is currently unknown if the driver stopped at all during the initial crash.

The Sheriff's Office says a deputy was in the area and was able to find the suspect vehicle. When the deputy attempted to stop the vehicle the driver ignored the lights and siren and continued to drive on Highway 140 towards Highway 62 in White City.

Multiple Sheriff's deputies joined the pursuit and followed the vehicle at moderate speeds through White City into Medford.

The Sheriff's Office says a deputy was able to perform a PIT maneuver around Willamette Avenue and East Main Street in Medford which ended the pursuit.

According to the Sheriff's Office the suspect, 22 year-old Philip D. Sipress of Medford, was driving on a suspended license at the time. Sipress is currently lodged atthe Jackson County Jail and is charged with "Attempt to Elude, Reckless Driving, and Hit and Run-Property Damage."

NBC 5 was on the scene and will bring you more on NBC 5 News at 5 & 6pm.
