Medford, Ore. -- Medford police said they issued 27 citations for illegal firework use Friday night, but one unsolved case hit too close to home.

Police responded to a homemade explosive device that was put next to a police car parked outside the station.

They said the device was made out of fireworks and a can of paint and made quite a mess when it went off.

Police were able to get all the paint off the car, but some of it still stains the street.

They are still looking for the suspect.
