Today hundreds of people are working hard, putting together the many pieces that make up such a large event. However, many people we spoke with also say they may not be going - High prices in a tough economy  becoming a factor.

Come one come all...
"It's a hectic day, but we'll be ready by 11 am," says Dave Koellermeir, fair director.

He tells us the rides are going up, animals are getting prepped, and there's a general buzz at the Jackson County Fair grounds. "I was informed this morning all we have left is grass seating, so that's a good start."

The fair begins at 11 a.m. Tuesday and it's anticipated more than 80,000 people will attend. "We're an important part of economic impact," he continues.
Yet ticket prices, parking fees, and miscellaneous expenses pose a concern for some.  Brenda Savage of Gold Hill tells us she won't be going because... "It's too expensive we're not going to have the money to go."
And Stu Bailey from White City comments, "For a major big family I suppose it hurts them."
And tomorrow these rides will be up and running, but it's going to cost you. For 40 tickets it's $20 dollars, and each ride averages 8-9 tickets a piece.

General admission costs $11 dollars, children 6 to 11 are $6 bucks, and parking adds an extra $4. Then, on top of that, you've got rides, food, and events.
Koellermeir says, "That was a criticism that we got last year."

So fair officials say their trying to help folks out- offering different discounts.
"We still have to be fiscally sound, so I hope we've come across a happy medium," he concludes
Hoping it's a fair enough medium to bring people to the Fair.
