A proposal to streamline some aspects of Jackson counties two largest fire agencies is on the table this morning.
While there is no talk of fully merging Medford Fire and Rescue with the Jackson County Fire District number 3, officials are considering consolidating some management systems and administrative positions.
Currently there are three administrative positions open between the two fire districts, and officials say the biggest talks will revolve around wether to fill these or merge the management systems so current administrators can bridge the gap; saying the idea would both save money and streamline response when multiple agencies are responding to large fires.
Talks between the departments will continue on Wednesday.
