Josephine County Authorities Search for Woman Reportedly Floating Down Rogue River

Nancy Dinsmore woke up to an eerie sight Wednesday morning.

"I saw a bright pink blouse [a person] with a bright pink blouse standing in the water," said Grants Pass resident Nancy Dinsmore.

She said around 7:30 in the morning she saw a woman, who she remembers had short dark hair, in the Rogue River walking toward the opposite shore. Dinsmore recalls the woman stopping just short of the bank, then calmly floating downstream...her body submerged up to her neck.

"I called police, I didn't know what to do," said Dinsmore.

Grants Pass Police and a boat from the Josephine County Sheriff's Office responded to the 400 block of Short Street and searched for the woman. They found nothing.

"The city nor Sheriff's Office have received a report of a missing person," said Erin Maue, spokesperson for the Josephine County Sheriff's Office.

The search was called off until investigators receive more information about the woman in the mysterious sighting.

If you know anything about the woman or if you are the woman, Grants Pass Police and the Josephine County Sheriff's Office are asking you to contact them.
