Medford, Ore.-- Monday marked the end of an era for Medford school District Superintendent Phil Long. He worked with the district for three decades.

Doctor long has worked as Superintendent for the past nine years and said some of the most challenging  obstacles to overcome have been the down-turn in the economy and the strike which, kept teachers out of the classrooms roughly two weeks in February this year.

But said as Superintendent he's done his best to help the district and the students in it.

"i'm just grateful and I wish families in the community and community members, support staff, our administrators and our school board, the best as we move forward."

Doctor Long is becoming the new Principal at  Cascade Christian High school in Medford.
